A visit to our South American neighbors

A Photo-Essay by Richard Katz

Francisca Diaz with one of the young cancer patients.

Francisca explained to me that many children with cancer, particularly leukemia, are from families with much emotional stress and trauma. The illness is often a way that the family emotional dysfunction is expressed by the child. Thus, flower essence therapy is an essential complement to the medical treatments. Flower essences not only help the children deal with the suffering caused by their illness and the treatment regime; the essences are there to protect the children’s psyches so they can be free to call on their own healing forces and love of life.

The flower essences are a special way of letting these children know that they are loved.
