Course Overview

The FES Professional Course is designed for both intermediate and advanced practitioners with some previous training or experience with flower essence therapy. This is a special opportunity to develop knowledge and skills in flower essence therapy by combining practical and theoretical teachings, informational and experiential learning, flower essence plant studies and therapeutic profiles, counseling methods and inner work.

We offer a program of professional quality, in which intellect, feeling and imagination are honored and cultivated. Our highly acclaimed training and certification program has been offered annually for nearly a quarter-century, and has been attended by practitioners from many parts of Europe, Asia, Australia, North and South America. Please join us for a most enjoyable and enriching experience!

General Outline


Part 1: Principles of Flower Essence Therapy

Friday, July 13 through Sunday, July 15 in Nevada City, California

• Philosophical/historical basis for flower essence therapy

• Emotions and the mind-body relationship

• Flower essence plant profiles

• Direct experience of plants in Terra Flora gardens and optional field trip

• Special populations: children, elderly, animals

• Flower essence selection and combining

• Therapeutic principles and practice

• Case reports and the latest research from the Flower Essence Society

Optional wildflower field trip Monday, July 16

We will visit a wildflower meadow in the nearby Sierra Nevada mountains, identify a number of wildflowers and prepare a flower medicine if conditions are warranted. Those enrolling will be responsible for bringing their own water and food and other hiking items for the day (we will provide a list of local stores with delicatessen and vegetarian items, etc.). Those electing to take the optional field trip need to be in reasonably good physical shape with the ability to hike in mountain conditions. The field trip is considered an enrichment and is not required for completion of the FES Professional Course.

Part 2: Certification Program

Individuals who have completed the above class are eligible to participate in the FES Certification Program.

The FES Certification Program involves in-depth case study research, plant study and archetypal analysis. Fully-detailed instructions for participation in the program are available to graduates of the FES Professional Course.
